The works in this solo exhibition were made during the years I spent at the Toride Campus of Tokyo University of the Arts in Ibaraki Prefecture. Working in the natural environment of Toride beside the wide, meandering Tonegawa River made me feel free, and so this creation took its course in a relaxed state of mind.
In the wonderful world of the theme, there also exists my helplessness for that which is both trivial and complicated in life, and so too can one find fragments of a trance dream in the middle of the night. Those wild imaginings of childhood have gradually been worn out in the noise of growth. For me, art is more like an escape from real life, a daydream, or perhaps a journey without a return date.
The strange sculptures and well-arranged objects, each of which is created in a different state, are not so much works as the materialisation of one's own emotions.
And so, I look forward to meeting you in this wondrous world...
